WHAT IS ALL STAR CHEERLEADING?

The sport of All-Star Cheerleading has grown immensely in Australia over the past 6 years.  Typically an American sport cheerleading has grown to All Stars status and is now a viable activity in itself. As it becomes more popular All Star Cheerleading is now focused more on teamwork and athleticism and less on pompoms and stereotypes.

Teams and athletes in All-Star now focus on gymnastics, acrobatics, athletic dance and many elements unique to All-Star in a fun and safe environment.

All-Star teams require a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 36 members but a preferred number of members would be 15 - 24+ athletes that have a variety of solid skills or particularly strong abilities in certain areas eg: dancer or gymnast.  The coach creates a competition routine performed by the group that has elements of tumbling, stunting, jumping, dance, and other skills set to music. The routines are typically 2.30 minutes in length.

At competitions, the teams are divided by age and ability level. The routines are judged by their level of difficulty, precision, creativity, and entertainment value.

There are many new all-star programs developing through-out Australia , although KLD X-Treme is widely recognised as a leader through the reputable competitions conducted by the governing body for cheerleading AUS Cheer.

Whilst not every program is a perfect fit for every student, we believe that we have a solid program that is the right choice for everyone from the brand-new beginning athlete to the experienced elite.

All-Star cheerleading is a great way for young children to learn new skills while building teamwork, goal-setting, sportsmanship, social skills and developing life long friendships.
