PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The X-Treme Cheer Program, was established in 2004, offering professional instruction for all levels, beginner through advanced, ages five through adult. Our program moves away from the stereotype model girls that represented VFL football teams in the 80’s but reflects a more athletic approach dominated more in America and now known as “All Star” cheerleading. Cheerleading is much more than first impressions. It is all business and a serious sport. Serious in the way that football, soccer and basketball are serious. If you've ever surfed across the ESPN coverage of national cheerleading competitions, you know this is true. At the sport's highest level, cheerleading can involve huge guys hurling "flyers" around and it's very impressive stuff. For those of you looking to break into this world where gymnastics meets dance, you've come to the right place.
KLD X-Treme cheerleaders are very adaptable as we are constantly offered opportunities to perform at corporate events but our main aim is to provide a solid technical base for cheerleading and participate in an internationally recognised sport affiliated with Gymnastics Australia/AUS Cheer as sanctioned by the Sports Commission of Australia.
Our program incorporates all elements of cheerleading including motions, jumps, stunts, tosses, tumbling, dance, cheer, strength and conditioning.
KLD X-Treme has two types of students
- Those who are 100% dedicated to becoming the best cheerleader they can be and therefore study all elements of cheer, incorporating USASF levels, and are members of our All Star Cheerleading program.
- Those who are a hobbyist, participating in recreational cheer classes and are not striving for selection into the competitive program. They enjoy the energy, fun and creativity of cheer but are not looking to commit to the team elements of competitive cheer.
KLD X-Treme (formerly known as KLD Cheerleaders) has been at the forefront of competitive cheerleading for students aged 5 years through to adult during the past 6 years. In such a short space in time our cheerleaders have showcased their talent in a competitive environment winning numerous state, national and international titles alongside very memorable performances for AFL football clubs, Netball Australia, Ribena/Weetbix, Myer Melbourne Christmas Parade, NEC, Shell/Ferrari and other corporate events.
